Graphics for the Calculus Classroom.
This site contains excerpts from a collection of graphical demonstrations developed for first year calculus. Some of the topics possess animated sequences displaying the derivative of that function or a series of pictures depicting the derivation of a specific constant. An illustration of how Archimedes found an approximation for pi by inscribing and circumscribing polygons in a circle is demonstrated both graphically and in table form. A discussion of e and an approximation of e to 35 decimal places is also presented.
The MacTutor History of Mathematics Archive
This mathematical history archive contains the biographies of more than 1100 mathematicians. In addition, a number of mathematical ideas are cross-referenced with the mathematician responsible for the idea. This site features 60 articles on famous curves with graphical representations and text.
