Facilities
The library is centrally located to be fully accessible to all students and staff at Harry Ainlay High School. Our hours of operation are from 8:30 A.M. to 4:15 P.M. during the school week.
Our library offers students a quiet place to conduct research, study, and to work on resource-based assignments. In addition, it provides students with access to recreational reading materials. The library maintains a 20,000 item fiction and non-fiction collection and maintains a periodical and audio/visual collection for student use.
Library staff assist students in developing information literacy skills in an integrated school library program. The library is networked with 40 PC computer stations, 20 laptops, and 20 netbooks providing access to the library catalogue, subscription databases, Internet, and other software applications. Student computer workstations are connected to a black and white laser printer and a colour laser printer. The teacher-librarian provides assistance to the teaching staff with the instruction, development, and planning of units and research assignments. The library at Harry Ainlay is used extensively by students and staff throughout the school day.
