Hey Future Titans!

Are you feeling nervous about finally going to high school?  Finding your place in a new school can be scary — especially if it’s a school with over 2000 people and room numbers that go into the 800s.  (Don’t worry; there aren’t really that many rooms.)  New lockers, new classrooms, new teachers, new friends, it can all be very overwhelming.

All of us at Ainlay went through these stresses when we started Grade 10, and we’re working on something to make it a bit easier for you when you come in the fall: Link Crew orientation.

This year’s Link Crew day is August 26. Be at Ainlay by 8:00 a.m. if you are in Group 1-36 and noon if you are in Group 37-72. You’ll want to arrive around 15 minutes early. Enter the school at the North end of the school (the end closest to Southgate), near the theatre and the gymnasium. There’ll be too many people there for you to miss it. One of your leaders should have phoned you in June and August to tell you exactly when you’re supposed to meet and what group you’re in.

On the day of Link Crew, you will begin by watching a quick presentation in the theatre. Then you will separate into your group with your Link Crew leaders. Together, you will register, tour the school, get your student IDs and participate in unique activities. This will give you a chance to get to know some of your future classmates and make new connections.

Link Crew is going to make your first day of school so much easier. We have been waiting and planning for your arrival since April. So leave all of your worries at the door and get ready to meet new people, to have fun and to amplify your Titan spirit!

Your Link Crew team promises to get you ready for all your high school firsts. So when you walk into Ainlay in September you will have already registered, seen the school and met some amazing new people. This year’s Link Crew promises to be the best ever and we can’t wait to see you all on Friday, August 26!
